XRP has recovered to around $1.50 on Oct. 4 as buyers defend $1.45 support and the XRP Ledger approaches two possible protocol activations on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9.

Summary

  • XRP trades near $1.50, while 1.52–1.53 remains the first breakout zone traders are watching closely.
  • Binance XRP open interest has recovered to 516.6 million but remains far below year-ago levels.
  • PermissionDelegationV1_1 could activate on October 8 if validator support remains above the required threshold continuously.
  • BatchV1_1 and fixBatchV1_2 are lined up for October 9 if supermajority support remains intact network-wide.
  • Daily RSI sits near 55, while MACD remains neutral and Bollinger resistance currently approaches $1.63.

CoinGecko shows XRP trading near $1.50, up roughly 1% over 24 hours but down about 2.5% during the past seven days. Its market capitalization stands near $94.7 billion, while 24-hour trading volume is close to $1.02 billion.

The token has struggled to extend its late-September recovery. CoinGecko historical data put XRP at $1.57 on Sept. 25 before it slipped to $1.48 on Oct. 2 and $1.49 on Oct. 3.

October now brings several events that could affect trading interest, including two XRPL amendment deadlines, rising AI-related payment activity on the ledger and Evernorth’s planned Nasdaq debut. None of the events guarantees additional demand for XRP, leaving the chart around 1.45–1.55 as the first test for the month.

XRP price needs to clear 1.52–1.55

Trader Symba said XRP remains above a major support zone near $1.45, while a descending trendline continues to cap price around 1.52–1.53.

Under the trader’s setup, a confirmed breakout above the trendline could open a move toward $1.55. Continued buying beyond that point could expose $1.63 and $1.65.

The bearish condition is clearer. Symba identified $1.45 as the main support and said a confirmed break below it could expose XRP to a deeper correction.

Recent XRP price analysis around Evernorth’s 473 million-token treasury deal similarly placed XRP above its rising daily moving averages while the token traded around $1.48 on Oct. 1. The 20-day average stood near $1.447, with the 50-day average around $1.367.

Crypto analyst CW said an XRP accumulation score had reached 100, while MACD and EMA trends were improving. The score is the analyst’s own indicator and does not establish that XRP will rise.

Ali Martinez said the monthly chart appears to be forming an ascending triangle with resistance around $3.66. A monthly close above that level “would confirm the breakout” and bring a projected $31.87 target into view, according to his chart.

The $31.87 figure is a long-term pattern target, not an October price forecast. XRP would first need to move far above the current $1.50 area and clear $3.66 before the setup described by Martinez would be confirmed.

XRP indicators show momentum improving but not confirmed

XRP’s daily technical indicators show stronger momentum than at the start of October, though several readings remain mixed.

CoinLore reports a 14-day RSI of 55.23 in its Oct. 4 daily technical update. An RSI above 50 puts momentum slightly on the buyers’ side, while the reading remains below the 70 level normally associated with an overbought market.

MACD has not provided the same confirmation. The MACD line stands near 0.0373, below its signal line around 0.0443, leaving the indicator neutral.

Bollinger Bands place the upper boundary close to $1.63 and the lower band near $1.29. XRP currently sits inside the range, leaving no overextension signal from the bands. The upper boundary sits close to Symba’s 1.63–1.65 resistance target.

Moving averages offer a firmer recovery signal. CoinLore places the 20-day EMA around $1.47, the 50-day EMA near $1.38 and the 100-day EMA close to $1.32. XRP remains above all three levels.

Its Ichimoku reading puts the Tenkan line near $1.54 and the Kijun line around $1.45, closely matching the resistance and support zones already identified on the price chart.

The technical setup therefore leaves $1.45 as the main short-term support and 1.52–1.55 as the first resistance range. A move through that area would bring the upper Bollinger Band around $1.63 into focus, while a loss of $1.45 could send XRP back toward its 50-day EMA around $1.38.

Binance XRP open interest is rebuilding slowly

Derivatives positioning remains far below the levels seen a year ago.

CryptoQuant analyst R3N reported Binance XRP open interest at 516.6 million, up from a 2026 low near 350 million to 400 million. The figure remains well below the more than 1.3 billion recorded near the beginning of the analyst’s October 2025 chart.

Price has recovered more quickly. XRP fell toward roughly $1 earlier in 2026 before returning to the 1.48–1.50 region, while Binance open interest has not rebuilt to the same degree.

Late August and September produced a temporary rise in both measures. Open interest moved from approximately 400 million above 700 million as XRP advanced from near $1 toward the 1.25–1.30 range, according to R3N.

Positioning has since cooled to 516.6 million. The analyst described the current market as “less leveraged, more cautious” than a year earlier.

Open interest measures the value of outstanding derivatives positions but does not show whether those positions are predominantly bullish or bearish. Rising open interest alongside price can indicate more leveraged participation, while declining open interest can show positions being closed.

Another CryptoQuant review found Binance XRP open interest fell 15.3% from $616.1 million on Sept. 22 to $521.5 million on Sept. 29 while XRP declined 5.2% from its six-month high during the same period.

The latest 516.6 million reading shows positioning remains near the lower end of the recent range even as XRP holds close to $1.50.

Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 bring two XRPL tests

The first important network date is Oct. 8.

PermissionDelegationV1_1 allows an XRPL account to grant specific transaction rights to another account without handing over its master key. Official XRPL documentation states that delegates can receive selected transaction permissions while account owners retain the ability to update or revoke access.

Earlier reports had placed activation on Oct. 5, but validator support fell below the required level and restarted the countdown. Updated ledger tracking shows the qualifying majority was regained on Sept. 24 at 21:25 UTC, moving the earliest activation to around Oct. 8 at 21:25 UTC if support remains above the required threshold.

The second date arrives on Oct. 9.

BatchV1_1 would let users package as many as eight transactions into one coordinated batch. XRPL documentation explains that batches can be structured so related transactions execute together, reducing the risk of only part of a multi-step operation completing.

Validator support for BatchV1_1 regained its qualifying majority on Sept. 25 at approximately 14:46 UTC, moving the earliest activation to Oct. 9 if support stays above the threshold.

A companion security amendment, fixBatchV1_2, is expected on the same day.

The XRP Ledger Foundation said version 3.4.1 introduced fixBatchV1_2 after developers identified security-sensitive issues involving Batch transactions. Validator support had already reached a supermajority when the emergency release was published, with activation expected on Oct. 9 if support holds.

The latest XRPL privacy and batch upgrade package includes several proposals designed for token issuance, account permissions and complex settlement. Each amendment still requires its own validator approval before becoming part of mainnet rules.

XRP Seoul puts AI payments and privacy in focus

Network activity received fresh attention during XRP Seoul 2026 on Oct. 3.

The official XRP Seoul program lists Ripple Senior Director of Engineering Ayo Akinyele for a keynote titled “Building XRPL for the Next Wave of Adoption.” Ripple President Monica Long and several executives from Asian financial institutions appeared during the same event.

AI-linked payments were among the developments discussed around the conference. Tracked x402 payments on XRPL reached 11,965,947 by Oct. 3, according to data reported from infrastructure provider t54, with a seven-day average of 525,618 payments per day.

Akinyele had earlier said the system passed 10 million x402 payments on Oct. 1 after reaching one million less than three months earlier. He described agents as increasingly able to “discover, pay for and consume services” autonomously.

Transaction counts do not show the dollar value of the payments or how many independent AI agents generated them. The figures therefore measure tracked activity, not direct XRP demand.

Privacy remained another part of the development roadmap. The XRPL confidential-transfer proposal is designed to encrypt Multi-Purpose Token balances and transfer amounts while leaving account identities visible and allowing authorized parties to access required information.

ConfidentialTransfer has not automatically become active because its code is available. Like other XRPL amendments, it must complete the validator approval process before mainnet activation.

XRP price prediction has three October scenarios

Based on Symba’s support and resistance levels and CoinLore’s Oct. 4 indicators, the first bullish scenario requires XRP to hold $1.45 and move through 1.52–1.55.

A confirmed break above that region could expose the Bollinger upper band near $1.63, followed by the $1.65 level identified by Symba. From $1.50, a move to $1.65 would represent an increase of roughly 10%.

The neutral scenario keeps XRP between approximately $1.45 and $1.55. Price could remain inside that range if buyers continue defending the 20-day EMA while failing to clear the descending resistance line.

The bearish scenario begins with a confirmed loss of $1.45. CoinLore’s 50-day EMA near $1.38 would then become another technical reference, followed by the 100-day EMA around $1.32 if selling intensifies.

XRP price prediction FAQs

Can XRP reach $1.65 in October?

XRP could test $1.65 if price first breaks and holds above the 1.52–1.55 resistance range. Symba identifies $1.63 and $1.65 as later targets after a confirmed trendline breakout. The levels remain conditional forecasts.

What is XRP’s most important support?

The main short-term support is near $1.45. CoinLore’s Ichimoku Kijun line sits around the same price, while its 20-day EMA is slightly higher near $1.47.

Are XRP’s technical indicators bullish?

The readings are mixed. RSI near 55 and price above the 20-, 50- and 100-day EMAs support the recovery, while MACD remains below its signal line.

When are the next XRP Ledger upgrades?

PermissionDelegationV1_1 can activate no earlier than Oct. 8 if validator support remains intact. BatchV1_1 and fixBatchV1_2 are currently lined up for Oct. 9, subject to the same consensus process.

What other XRP event is scheduled for October?

Evernorth and Armada Acquisition Corp. II announced that their business combination is expected to close on Oct. 7, subject to remaining conditions. The combined company is expected to begin Nasdaq trading under XRPN on Oct. 8, with approximately 473 million XRP expected in its treasury at closing.
The transaction had already advanced through shareholder approval, as detailed in coverage of Evernorth’s planned 473 million XRP treasury. Its expected holdings include XRP acquired and contributed through earlier transaction agreements, not a new 473 million-token purchase tied to the listing itself.
