Blockchain financial institution XREX Group will host the fourth annual Stablecoin Summit in Singapore on Oct. 8, bringing together cryptocurrency firms, global payment networks and financial regulators following a stalled legislative vote in the U.S. Senate.

The event, co-sponsored by Curve Finance and Bridge, comes after a recent cloture vote on the proposed U.S. CLARITY Act fell short of the threshold needed to advance the bill. Despite ongoing legislative disagreement over yield-bearing payment stablecoins, the global stablecoin market has grown to nearly $300 billion as institutions expand their use in cross-border settlements and payments infrastructure.

The full-day summit at Andaz Singapore will focus on cross-chain interoperability, deposit tokens, central bank digital currencies and local fiat-pegged stablecoins. Attendees will also examine applications across decentralized finance, supply chain finance and artificial intelligence transactions.

“Stablecoins have grown into an independent industry, but there is no single path forward,” said Wayne Huang, co-founder and group chief executive officer of XREX Group. “Different participants are building for different needs, across markets and regulatory environments. The opportunity now is to create the common infrastructure and standards that can connect these efforts.”

Participating organizations include Visa, Stripe, Coinbase, S&P Global Ratings, Rakuten, Paxos Labs, Aave Labs, SAP, Galaxy Ventures and the European Commission. Speakers include Peter Kerstens, an advisor to the European Commission who worked on the Markets in Crypto-Assets regulatory framework, as well as representatives from Curve Finance and the Stellar Development Foundation.

Maximilian Roszko, business development lead at Curve Finance, said financial institutions require neutral infrastructure to operate without relying on direct competitors.

“Issuers, institutions and DeFi builders need to work together on these connections, and work out what we can actually build together,” Roszko said.

XREX Group operates under a Major Payment Institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and holds virtual asset service provider registration with Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission.
