The Sequence
Onchain tracker Lookonchain says the account in question belongs to Andrew Tate, with the wallet (0xfb00…1E9d) having been active on Hyperliquid since late 2024.
The public trade data for the wallet shows it bought 122,826.9 HYPE on Nov. 29, 2024 at an average of $4.48, about $549,968 in total, on the day HYPE began trading. Within 48 hours, it had sold 41,430 HYPE at an average of roughly $7.25 for about $300,000, taking back more than half the cost. Most of the rest ended up staked.
At press time, HYPE is trading near $88, roughly 20 times that entry. Lookonchain puts the wallet’s total profit on HYPE at $7.24 million, a 1,317% return.
The Move, Step by Step
The Binance deposit had been coming for a week, given that Hyperliquid has a seven-day unstaking queue, so the HYPE that came out of staking on Oct. 2.
- 10:37 (UTC): 63,367 HYPE left Hyperliquid staking and landed in the wallet’s spot balance.
- 14:14 (UTC): 20,950 HYPE, valued at $1.89 million, was sent through Hyperliquid’s system address to the wallet’s HyperEVM side.
- About an hour later: A single HYPE was sent as a test transfer to a Binance deposit address, according to Arkham Intelligence.
- Roughly an hour after that: 20,949 HYPE, about $1.87 million, followed to the same deposit address.
The wallet’s Hyperliquid spot balance still shows 42,417 HYPE, about $3.7 million at Saturday’s price.
Other Notable Tate Transactions
The profit booked this time around is notable since Tate’s record as a leveraged trader is shaky, to say the least. For instance, in November 2025, his Hyperliquid perpetuals account lost its entire balance of more than $727,000 when bitcoin’s price slid below $90,000, a run Bitcoin.com News covered when he was liquidated for the 84th time.
He kept going at it in 2026 and by June, Lookonchain counted 107 liquidations, and a 40x long on 57.36 BTC cost him $95,478 when bitcoin’s price was around $65,257. Arkham also recorded him getting liquidated 8 times in 24 hours that month.
His record with tokens he promoted has not been much better. For instance, Tate has launched or pushed numerous memecoins such as Daddy Tate (DADDY), Roost and Germany Token, over the past year. All of these assets crashed amid insider trading allegations, with HYPE being the only exception (but then again, it is a token he simply bought and then sold/staked).
