Comedian Josh Johnson sits down with Mashable Executive Producer Mark Stetson on Say More to talk about his upcoming HBO original comedy special, Symphony.
Josh reveals the frantic 4-day stretch where he filmed his HBO special, wrote and performed a completely new stand-up set (The Afroman Trial Explained: Cops vs Hip Hop), and then hosted The Daily Show. He also explains his rapid-fire approach to releasing a new special every week on YouTube, why he believes great comedy needs to focus on universal “systems” rather than temporary topical jokes, and why he’ll always consider himself a writer and an artist first.
Symphony premieres on HBO Max May 22nd at 8:00pm ET.
